Area residents are offered a multitude of recreational activities available throughout the year thanks, in part, to Michigan Center Lake. Also know as Center Lake, it begins a chain of seven small- and medium-sized lakes stretching approximately five miles to the south and east.

Fifth Street and Page Avenue comprise the main streets of Michigan Center, complete with specialty shops, restaurants and gas stations. Each year (usually in mid-to-late June) the local Lions Club sponsors the Carp Carnival which features a parade, carnival and carp-spearing contest.
