Vandercook Lake dominates the community of the same name. The 144-acre lake has a public access site and is great place to go for recreational boating. Just south of Jackson, Vandercook Lake has convenience stores, a hardware store, gas stations and restaurants. The Vandercook Lake County Park includes a swimming area, two ball diamonds, a boat launch, playground area, and a picnic shelter.
