All proceeds go directly to helping the homeless animals at Cascades Humane Society (CHS). CHS does not receive any government funding and therefore relies solely on donations from the community, whether it is through individuals, businesses, foundations or events like the Gala.
“We truly depend on the generosity of the Jackson community to ensure that the more than 1,100 animals that come through our doors are given all the care they deserve. Each pet is spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccines, given parasite preventatives and given all the food, water, and love they need. All of this adds up to far more than our adoption costs, so every dollar donated goes a long way in accomplishing our mission of connecting animals in need with people who care”.
As in years past, Cascades Humane Society has put together a great selection of live and silent auction items. “The silent auction will have between 30 and 40 baskets to bid on featuring a wide assortment certain to appeal to a variety of tastes. There will be something to take home to your pet, something for the sports fanatics, unique experiences, and much more. The ever exciting live auction will have some returning favorites such as the coveted Face of the Gala and 2 Southwest plane tickets to anywhere (including Hawaii) they fly. New this year to the live auction will be a beautiful recliner donated by Vermuelen’s and a Hot Air Balloon Ride donated by Remax Mid-Michigan.
You also have an opportunity to honor your pet during the evening (sorry, no pets allowed at this event). You can purchase a Pet Tribute Honor Roll slide for just $10 each. These slides will run during the entire evening, allowing you to point out your loved one to everyone you meet.
CHS expects more than 200 guests. Tickets are $75 each and are limited in quantity. For tickets or to learn more, go to chspets.org/gala18.
