HFAH Creates Greater Access to Expert Heart Care

In another strategic step in its affiliation with Henry Ford Health System, Henry Ford Allegiance Health (HFAH) said it will join forces with the cardiac surgery team at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. A pioneer in structural heart techniques, Henry Ford Hospital is committed to offering new clinical trials and the highest quality of personalized care in this region. Using an integrated approach to care and expanded technology, Henry Ford offers access to life-saving protocols that have increased heart attack survival rates from 50 to 84 percent.

Division Head of Cardiac Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute Gaetano Paone, MD, said, “Henry Ford Health System is committed to enhancing the quality of cardiac care in the Jackson area by sharing system best practices, and we look forward to serving the region. We are also honored to welcome cardiac surgeons Mahender Macha, MD, and Vincent Simonetti, MD, as members of the Henry Ford Allegiance Medical Group (HFAMG).”

Dr. Macha and Dr. Simonetti have served the Jackson community since Henry Ford Allegiance Health first brought open-heart surgery services to the Jackson area — an event that marks its 10th anniversary this year. The team has since completed more than 1,430 open-heart surgeries.
