HFAH Increases Access to Non Emergency Care

MAY 1, 2018 — Henry Ford Allegiance Health is taking steps to ensure patients have access to the level of care they need in the most appropriate setting. These steps include offering expanded hours at the Henry Ford Allegiance Walk-in Clinic, located at 1401 W. North Street in Jackson.

“Our goal is to provide the most appropriate, most timely care possible to the community. In order to do that, we need the primary focus of our Emergency Department to be on patients with life threatening concerns, such as a heart attack or possible stroke,” said Mark Smith, MD, Henry Ford Allegiance Health Chief Medical Officer. “Offering a walk-in clinic with expanded hours makes it possible for Henry Ford Allegiance Health to provide timely, affordable care for patients with non-emergency health needs."

The Henry Ford Allegiance Walk-in Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. No appointment is needed. All community members are welcome. Henry Ford Allegiance Walk-in Clinic is ideal for non-emergency health needs, including:

  • Allergy symptoms
  • Bronchitis
  • Cold or flu symptoms
  • Conjunctivitis (“Pink Eye”)
  • Cuts
  • Ear ache
  • Fever
  • Laboratory services
  • Nose bleed
  • Rashes or hives
  • Respiratory or sinus infection
  • Sore throat
  • Sprains
  • Urinary symptoms

Henry Ford Allegiance Walk-in Clinic is not appropriate for patients experiencing a life-threatening emergency, such as possible heart attack or stroke. Instead, call 9-1-1 to be transported to the Emergency Department. An appointment is needed for vaccinations, sports physicals and annual exams.
