IEP Urgent Care Jackson opens on Monday, May 24th Creates partnerships for broader range of community health care services

JACKSON Independent Emergency Physicians, (IEP) one of SE and Mid-Michigan’s only emergency physician-owned and physician-led providers of acute care medicine for hospitals and patients, will open IEP Urgent Care Jackson at 729 E. Michigan Avenue on Monday, May 24th.

Like the other highly rated IEP Urgent Care locations in Brighton, Novi and Southfield, IEP Urgent Care Jackson features 7 exam rooms, on-site digital x-ray imaging, an array of urgent care services, testing procedures, and telemedicine from ER trained providers and staff. IEP Urgent Care Jackson will be open 7 days a week with convenient weekend and evening hours. Patients can walk in or easily book an appointment online at www.iepurgentcare.com/jackson.

IEP Urgent Care Jackson will meet the needs of all Jackson community members by accepting private insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. “It’s more important than ever that providers deliver the right care, in the right place, and at the right cost to patients.  IEP Urgent Care is providing an  affordable care alternative to an ED visit for non-life threatening illness or injury.  IEP Urgent Care’s commitment to accept Medicaid insurance, just as we do in our Emergency Departments, will help to bridge existing gaps in affordable care for the whole community,” said David Hall, MD, FACEP, President and CEO of IEP.

“IEP has been taking care of the Jackson community in the Emergency Department since 2008.  IEP Urgent Care is unique as our Emergency Medicine roots ensure a superior level of quality and experience for non-emergency immediate care in the Jackson community.” said John Kulish, MD, FACEP, Director of Ambulatory Services for IEP.

IEP has also been a long-term partner of the Jackson Health Network, a physician-led collaboration between health care leaders, community leaders, physicians, and Henry Ford Allegiance Health – all working together to improve patient outcomes and safety, and impact health care costs through an integrated system of care.

The opening of IEP Urgent Care Jackson will also create a positive economic impact in the Jackson area, by creating 25 new jobs and an investment of 2.3M in construction of the new 4,000 square foot facility.

“The Jackson area continues to establish itself as a growing hub in the state.  IEP’s investment in our downtown business district underscores the advantage Jackson has to offer - from the strength of our business climate to our talented workforce,“ said Scott Fleming President and Chief Executive Officer for the Jackson Anchor Initiative.
