Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Hosts Candidate Forum


The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Zoom forum October 15th featuring the candidates seeking to represent Michigan’s 7th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.

Incumbent Republican Congressman Tim Walberg and Democratic challenger Gretchen Driskell are featured in this hour long forum beginning at noon. Walberg has represented Michigan's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. Representative from 2007-2009 and again from 2011 – present. Driskell, the first female mayor of Saline, held that position for 14 years. From 2012 to 2017 Driskell was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 52.

 

The forum will be moderated by Kathy Schmaltz. Schmaltz, a former TV News Anchor/Writer at WILX-TV 10 for 14 years and host of “In Focus” a cable interview show featuring political leaders and others discussing major issues and public policy is an experienced moderator of political debates in Congressional, State and Local races.
