MMJ Plans Basketball-Themed Event

MARCH  5, 2018 - March is known for basketball “madness,” but it’s also prime time for wedding planning, which is why Marriage Matters Jackson (MMJ) is offering a fun one-day event for seriously dating and engaged couples on Saturday, March 24 at the Consumers Energy Innovation Center in downtown Jackson.

Timeout: A Dating Adventure is specifically designed to help couples BEFORE they take the leap into marriage. In addition to a day packed with food, fun and helpful information, MMJ has built in breaks for people to check the scores of their favorite teams.

“We know basketball is on the brain of many people in March,” says MMJ’s Executive Director Shelby Raines and the event facilitator. “The entire theme of our event is built around it – and we’ve found there are many similarities between a successful sports team and a successful relationship.”

The one-day getaway for dating and engaged couples will cover ways to:

  •      “Share the floor” to communicate effectively and respectfully
  •       Rebound from potential problems
  •       Team up to achieve and maintain financial stability
  •       Chart a plan for the future.

Tickets to the workshop are $50 per couple and include breakfast, lunch and the workshop, which runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  Space is limited, so people are encouraged to register early. Details are available at www.MarriageMattersJackson.com or by calling (517) 796-5116.
