The Center for Health Innovation and Education now open

MAY 1, 2018 — Henry Ford Allegiance Health announced the grand opening of its Center for Health Innovation & Education on May 1. Ground was broken in September 2016 for construction of the two-story addition to the northwest side of the Charles Anderson building. The Center’s leading-edge technology makes it possible for residents, researchers, educators, physicians and nurses to hone their medical and interpersonal skills through simulated learning. Increased knowledge and advanced skills allow the Henry Ford Allegiance Health team to provide a higher level of quality and safety for an exceptional patient experience, HFAH said.

At the heart of the Center is a Simulation Laboratory (SIM Lab), designed to look and feel like real inpatient and outpatient settings. Lifelike mannequins with self-healing “skin” are programmed to react to treatment with human physiological responses. Simulation practice will provide learners with a broad range of experience in treating virtually every disease and condition without risk to patients.
