Nomination
Each day in Jackson County, outstanding educators spark curiosity, guide meaningful growth, and create lasting change in the lives of their students. Jackson Magazine’s Top Teachers Program was created to recognize these inspiring leaders—and your nomination helps make that possible.
Educators will be honored as Top Teachers, and one will receive the distinguished title of Teacher of the Year. This comes after a careful, committee-led review and observation process. They will be featured in the May 2027 issue of Jackson Magazine.
Nomination Criteria
To be eligible for consideration, the teacher must:
- Be currently employed as a full-time K–12 classroom teacher in a Jackson County, MI school.
- Have completed a minimum of five years of classroom teaching prior to the 2026–2027 school year under either a Standard Teaching or ACA License.
Not sure whether a teacher meets these requirements? Nominate them anyway—eligibility will be verified as part of the process.
Nominations are confidential. Teachers are not informed of the name(s) of those who submit nominations.
All nominations must be submitted by October 9, 2026.
