The Jackson County Educator & School Staff Virtual Job Fair, a collaboration between the Jackson County Intermediate School District, Michigan Works! Southeast and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, will take place on Tuesday, March 15 from 11am - 5pm.
“If you’re looking for a career in education, this is the place to find it,” says Shamar Herron, Executive Director of Michigan Works! Southeast. “This virtual job fair is your one-stop-shop to connect with the many schools and early childhood centers throughout Jackson County,” says Herron.
Nearly 20 employers are participating, including several public, private and charter schools, early childhood centers, and Jackson College. Positions range from teachers, substitute teachers and administrators, to bus drivers, paraprofessionals, and specialized support staff.
"Everybody knows there’s a teacher shortage, but it takes so many more people to run a school and do education really well,” says Jackson County ISD Director of Instruction and Learning Services Tovah Sheldon. “Many of our local districts, preschool programs, and community partners have added positions to help students and families impacted by the pandemic. Jackson County is a great community with wonderful opportunities in education and we are looking for people who are ready to make a difference,” says Sheldon.
